THE PROPOSAL
In Beauty Salon we will address the following themes/conflicts: the lack of sacredness in contemporary society, a society that has replaced spirituality with the cult of the external image with which we project - and conceal - ourselves to others; old age and the moral limits of euthanasia; and the concepts of community and transcendence: in other words, the continuing need of 21st century men and women to find a place to belong and to feel safe in, even if it is only a simple Beauty Salon.
SYNOPSIS
The Beauty Salon is run by the Son of Jean G. - founder of the Order of the Night Swimmers - who is the boy with whom the performance of The Swimmers ended in the Slaughterhouse and who survived the final attack and burning of the Order.
Thus, in this Beauty Salon we will find, on the one hand, the intrahistory of that child, that is, the attempt at the real conception of a biological and natural child - with multiple and surrealistic medical-logistical vicissitudes typical of a screwball comedy - by the author of the play and his translator into German; and, on the other hand, the life of all the characters who come to this nineteenth-century Beauty Salon in search of liberation from old pain and, at the same time, to prepare themselves - and get cute - to cross the threshold. Black humour. Gossip and gossip. The gossip press. Classical cinema. Chopin. Spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Boleros and Radiohead.
